Emergency Procedures

If you should have a fire or a gas leak in your home: notify the fire department immediately!
Inform them that you have a patient in your home and let them know if the patient is able
to get out of the house. When you are safe, please call the Charity Hospice office. The staff
or the nurse who is on-call will assist you in making provisions for the patient’s care.

If our area is affected by a blizzard or flooding, our staff will inform you by telephone if there will any changes in your regular visit schedule. If necessary, the staff will work with local emergency services to provide any immediate care that is needed.

Please notify Charity Hospice of any changes in your situation.  Our phone will be answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week even during weather emergencies when the office is closed. If the regular staff or the on-call nurse is unable to reach you due to the weather, we will make arrangements with the local emergency services to make certain that you are provided with care.
